I had my personality profile results interview with Pauline on Friday. It went well I thought, I'm apparently NOT an axe-murderer! The results of the 200 question test seemed fairly accurate about my personality, it'd be fair to say there were no surprises.
Pauline asked me several questions about certain scenarios based on what areas of the test I had a strong opinion on, and I'd like to think I answered them well.
I asked when I could reasonably expect to get the call up and before I got that answer I had to commit to completing all the pre-selection tasks. Out came a checklist .... I have 16 (!!) more things to do.
I have to sit and pass the PAT (was over on my run time last time, so do it again), get a full Birth Cert (including parents' names) from the UK, provide 2 Passport Photos, supply a CV, show Proof of Residence, get a Work Reference (could be difficult as they don't know yet), get the Swim Cert, get the First Aid Cert, sit and pass the PCT, do the Scope, sit and pass the Typing, History and Writing tests, have my fingerprints done, Police Enquiries and a Final Medical.
Phew. The only areas I see that will take time or be awkward will be the First Aid Course (three NZQA Unit standards) and the Birth Cert (can get it online but may take a while to get here by post).
I said I'd like to have everything done by end of November 2008. Now that's my goal!
If I do this then I could expect to be accepted for training end of 2009 / early 2010, so quite some time off, unless they are able to recruit more as a result of the election. Fingers crossed.
I was given reading material to revise about Police history, structure and legislation (part of the History test) that is quite interesting.
I've emailed Loyd asking for an appointment to arrange the SCOPE, I can't wait!
