Booked in for SCOPE!

Well, I have received confirmation of dates to undertake the SCOPE training. I have four shifts to attend:

  • Friday 10 October 1700 - 0300
  • Saturday 11 October 2200 - 0700
  • Friday 24 October 1700 - 0300
  • Saturday 25 October 2200 - 0700
I can't wait but at the same time are apprehensive and know I'll be exhausted (especially working from 8.00 Friday in my existing job to 3am Saturday).

The shifts are either side of my PCT on 16 October and after my PAT 7 October. After the SCOPE I will do the reading and history tests along with the computer skills test. I'll complete my swimming test during October and arrange to attend the First Aid Course either late Oct or early November.

Police are presently conducting the reference checks so fingers crossed that goes well!

It's going to be a busy period but will be nearing the end of the process by then, so an end is in sight.

I've made enquiries and can get my full birth cert online from the UK.

Now to brush up on my cake baking skills for the staff when I turn up when I do my first SCOPE. I hear that baking goes down well!

Who did you do your scope with and what type of baking did you do. I don't recall you back handing the day watch house keeper with a piece of cake????? What's with that?
